They have dedicated their lives in looking after the orthopaedic health of Queenslanders but at the same time are actively involved in uplifting the health of our fellow pacific islanders. For many years Dr Desmond Soares has been traveling to Papua New Guinea and Samoa to improve the local orthopaedic health of our pacific island cousins. He has been instrumental in establishing the Pacific Island Orthopaedic Association which provides training to junior doctors in the pacific.

Adj Assoc Prof Ashish Gupta is the founding director of Queensland Unit for Advanced Shoulder Research (QUASR) at Queensland University of Technology(QUT). Dr Gupta as part of his international engagements actively travels overseas to perform live surgeries for constant global collaboration.
